Street Life in San Telmo The true birthplace of Tango, this neighborhood is still set in cobblestone streets and buildings dripping with history. The area has recently taken a path towards refurbishment. Many abandoned and timeworn buildings are being overhauled into high-end boutique hotels and restaurants. There is also a large music and bar scene providing nightly entertainment. A huge craft, antique, and art fair brings out tourists, locals, and street vendors every Sunday.

National History Museum This museum houses interesting pieces and documents of Argentine history from the 16th through the 19th century. The expansive Italian-style mansion houses 30 rooms with items saved from Jesuit missions, paintings illustrating clashes between the Spaniards and Indians, and relics from the War of Independence against Spain.

Lezama Park With the monument to Pedro de Mendoza (one of the founders of Buenos Aires), is a splendid green area with exuberant trees and huge sculptures. Across the Lezama Park, The Russian Orthodox Church of the Sacred Trinity: built by the Russian community by the early 1900’s. The characteristic architecture and particular style deserve a visit.

Parroquia de San Pedro Telmo The Parroquia San Pedro Telmo was built by the Jesuits in 1734 and its protection was entrusted to 'San Pedro Telmo'. This site has two important bell towers and a statue of the saint in the front; the clock was donated by English officials. Entrance is free.

Plaza Dorrego Bar This is the one café in San Telmo you can't miss. Centrally located on the northeast corner of San Telmo's historic Plaza Dorrego, this popular-with-the-tourists café-bar is one of two cafes on the Plaza where you can sit, relax and people watch to your heart's content

El Desnivel Excellent and a classic Buenos Aires parrilla (bbq) this steakhouse just a walk down from Plaza Dorego, is a must-visit for any meat lover. Popular with foreigners (now more than ever) and locals alike, line up next to the open-air grill just inside the doorway.

TANGO SHOW AND NIGHT LIFE
Bar Sur An all-time classic in San Telmo. Among the many people who visted "Bar Sur" are Liza Minelli, Sean Conery, Mario Vargas Llosa and Christopher Lambert. Bar Sur is located on the ground floor of a three-story French-style.

SM2 - BA apartment SM2
This is a nicely designed apartment in a well maintained building in a great block of San Telmo. There are always people on the street, but the apartment itself is very tranquil, particularly the master bedroom. Great kitchen, with a lovely skyline view from the dining room. And two great bathrooms. I was super comfortable here and didn't want to leave. As for ApartmentsBA, they were a pleasure to deal with. I highly recommend the company and this property!

SAN1 Nice Apartment, Apartments BA sevice not so good SAN1
The property is great: - clean - great location The only thing missing is a stereo. Apartments BA: - were over half an hour late in meeting us there to give us the key on arrival - charged us way too much for 1 broken glass - charged us extra for out of hours inspection on leaving I can excuse the first issue as an honest mistake- however getting charged extra for 1 broken glass when we were paying a fairly high rental was rude. Then charging us for out of hours inspection was ridiculous after they were so late in letting us in on arrival. Overall I would recommend the apartment, but not ApartmentsBA

SAN1 Great apartment in historical San Telmo SAN1
We thought the Apartment was great in terms of location and also had a great feel...a little short on bowls dishes etc... and I found it exorbitant that the renters of the apartment wanted to charge me in excess of $125.00 to send me a pair of shoes that I forgot.
